(…)The third prize and the award of the public were granted to twenty-one-year-old Pole Joanna Marcinkowska, who in the final stage charmed both the jury and the audience with her performance of Brahms’s Piano Concerto in D Minor. At the concert of the prize winners, the young Pole played “Scarbo” from Gaspard de la nuit by Ravel with enormous precision and elegance, doing justice to the fiendish nature of this difficult piece.
